What to bring
I have plenty of props – blocks, blankets, belts, bolsters, eye bags and yoga mats – but if you’d rather bring your own, you’re very welcome.
Make sure you’re warm enough. We spend time lying and sitting still on the floor.
About yin yoga
Yin is a form of yoga that works on stretching the body’s connective tissue (ligaments, bones and joints) in the pelvis, hips and spine.
Some people might think that the style is soft or even boring but what makes it challenging is the length of time over which the postures are held – for around five minutes and most are seated.
The style encourages you to let go of any goals and ambition and just ‘be’ in the pose, finding stillness and deep relaxation.
Yin allows you to find your limitations and helps you accept them, thus avoiding injuries in other activities.
I love Clare’s yin workshops and she has such a wonderful way with her teaching. I always feel very looked after and my bad back feels so much better afterwards.
